DIGITAL FASHION ILLUSTRATION: INITAL ILLUSTRATION

This is my first black and white illustration for this project, I used a previous photograph from a sixties inspired collection and drew it with pencil followed by fine liner. My next step will be to put it into photo shop and begin experimenting with ideas.

DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION: OP ART

DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION RESEARCH: 1960'S

A huge trend for this spring is the 1960's and so designers such as Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Lacoste have all created collections influenced by the decade and noticeably in Louis Vuitton collection the op art movement, this will help develop my research and my own 1960's inspired illustration.

PHOTOSHOP

Today I had my first expereince using Adobe photoshop, I learnt basics techniques like cropping, using the magic wand and how to duplicate different layers. This is my first example of work, I took an image of Mickey mouse and experimented by using different colours and fonts to turn him in to a psycadelic mouse.

DIGITAL FASHION ILLUSTRATION

I have been set my first project brief which is to create two digital fashion illustrations with the help of my own creative mind and photo shop. We have been given the opportunity to use a past design project to theme the illustrations on which has lead me to use the '1960's' as my as inspiration for my illustration.

From previous research I've learnt about the culture and fashion of the decade such as the introduction of the mini skirt, hippies and the radical space age movement.
I believe the op art movement which made its first appearance in the sixties to be very inspiring and can easily be Incorporated within my own designs. Designers such as Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton have used this movement and the work of Bridget Riley in their most recent 2013 collections.
